This 11-yr-old is wise beyond his years.

11-29-17 - 11, and wise beyond his years. Today's Wed's Child has a maturity level that would almost lead you to believe he's a teen.  Dave Courvoisier introduces us to Wesley:  A young man in search of an adoptive family.

When Wesley walked into the Wii Play Games store, he thought he'd found Nirvana.

"The Pokémon, right when I walked in I saw I just looked right at them," exclaimed Wesley.

Wesley is an admitted computer and games guy, but his aspirations are much more lofty than that.  He's had plenty of  life-changing experiences as a foster child.

"How many homes have you been through the years?" asked Dave. "Too many to count," answers Wesley.

But all that exposure to the system gave him a desire to flip the script and help others.

"But I want to be someone that inspires foster children to never give up, no matter what," admits Wesley

"He’s really wise. And he says he’s wise because of all the things he’s gone through and that it’s made him mature," says Kerrie, his case worker.

Kerrie is impressed with Wesley, and could see him in the role he's chosen when he's older.

"I think that he is good at advocating for his own needs… and he knows what kids and care needs because as he said he’s been in care for quite a while now, so he knows what kids need. He knows they need someone caring they need someone understanding, that’s what he wants, someone kind and patient," Kerrie claims.

"Don’t you ever want to be adopted though?" says Dave. "Yes I do.  It would be good.  IT would be actually great because I would have a true family," admits Wesley.

A true family is a good way to put it.  His case worker says that would be a secure family.

"A patient home. A kind, forgiving home. A home that he can actually explore, somewhere that they can give him an activity, they want to give him an activity. Take him out. Somewhere that he feels accepted," explains Kerrie.
