Three deadly crashes claim five lives

LAS VEGAS - Five people are dead following three separate crashes in the Las Vegas Valley Saturday night into Sunday morning.

The first crash happened on Flamingo Road approaching Lindell Road around 8:45 p.m. Saturday.

A driver of a truck collided with a 69-year-old male pedestrian, according to the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The man died at the scene. Investigators say he was 140 feet away from a crosswalk when the truck struck him.

The driver did not show any signs of impairment, police said.

The second crash happened about two hours later around 11:00 p.m. at Stephanie Street and Russell Road.

Two vehicles collided killing both drivers and a passenger, according to the Henderson Police Department.

There was no information immediately available about the circumstances of the crash.

The third crash happened at the intersection of Sahara Avenue and Van Patten Street around 1:40 a.m. Sunday.

A motorcyclist was traveling at a high rate of speed approaching the intersection and collided with a car making a left turn, according to LVMPD investigators.

The 25-year-old motorcyclist was ejected from the bike, and he died at the scene, said police.

The driver of the car and two occupants were uninjured in the crash. Investigators say the driver passes a field sobriety test.

The three crashes remain under investigation. The Clark County Coroner's Office will release the identity of those killed.
