Three people, two pets displaced by house fire

LAS VEGAS - More than two dozen firefighters battled a blaze on Saturday at a house in the southeast part of the valley.

The fire started around 2:15 p.m. in the area of U.S. 95 and Tropicana Avenue.

Clark County firefighters arrived on scene to find smoke and flames pouring out of the home. Crews attacked the fire from inside and the roof.

It took CCFD about 20 minutes to put out the fire. A total of 27 firefighters responded to the incident.

Two people were at the home at the time of the fire and escaped unharmed, CCFD investigators said.

The American Red Cross is now assisting the three adults and two pets displaced.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
