T-Mobile launches Wideband LTE in Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS — T-Mobile says Las Vegas is now one of two places in the southwest with their new Widebande LTE, which launched Wednesday around the valley.

For the non-techies, what does it mean? "This allows customers to download a 90-minute HD movie in 3 and a half minutes or a whole album in 9 seconds," said T-Mobile's Rachel Cooper.

You must already have a LTE-enabled device, such as a smartphone or tablet, in order to take advantage of the faster speeds, T-Mobile said.

In June, T-Mobile customers in the valley listened to more than 35 million songs on Pandora and watched more than 22 million YouTube videos, according to the wireless provider.

"Local Las Vegas T-Mobile customers are very active on social media platforms via their mobile devices and tablets. With Wideband LTE, and the increased network capacity and speeds, local customers will have added convenience and a faster experience in accessing their favorite destinations," Cooper said.
