LAS VEGAS - Las Vegas Fire and Rescue battled a blaze at a storage facility near Summerlin Saturday afternoon.
It happened at 7441 W. Lake Mead Boulevard.
According to firefighters, several trailers, and RVs at the Storage at Summerlin self-storage facility caught fire.
The eastbound lanes of W. Lake Mead Blvd. had to be closed at N. Buffalo Dr. while crews fought the blaze.
The fire which spread quickly, caused two rows of vehicles to go up in flames, according to LVFR's Twitter account. The fire created thick black smoke that could be seen for miles.
Las Vegas Fire and Rescue said three engines had to be called in to get the fire under control which took close to one hour.
At least 38 vehicles consisting of boats, pickup trucks, and RV trailers were damaged or destroyed by fire, Las Vegas Fire and Rescue said. No one was injured in the fire.
Damage is estimated at $2.5 million. The fire has been ruled as accidental.
