Trial Date Reset in Las Vegas Strip Shooting Case

LAS VEGAS (AP) -- A judge has set a new trial date for a self-described pimp facing the death penalty in the deaths of three people last February on the Las Vegas Strip.

Ammar Harris' new defense attorneys asked for time to become familiar with the case against 27-year-old Ammar Harris.

Thomas Ericsson and Robert Langford were appointed last month to represent Harris after a team of special public defenders withdrew.

The trial which was scheduled for Dec. 2, 2013 has been moved to Sept. 8, 2014.

Harris is accused of fatally shooting an aspiring rapper driving a sports car that crashed into a taxi, killing two other people.

Harris was found guilty Sept. 20 of four felonies in another case stemming a June 2010 sex attack on an 18-year-old woman at a condominium off the Las Vegas Strip
