UPDATE: Two pedestrians killed in overnight crash in North Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS - Two people are dead following an overnight crash on Pecos Road between Las Vegas Boulevard and Cheyenne Avenue, according to investigators with the North Las Vegas Police Department.

A GMC Yukon truck hit a male and female pedestrian around 12:30 a.m. on Saturday, police said. Medical responders rushed the two victims to University Medical where they died.

The preliminary investigation shows the 22-year-old driver of the Yukon was traveling south on Pecos Road when he left the road and collided with the adult victims who were walking on the sidewalk.

The driver stayed on the scene of the crash. Drugs and alcohol do not appear to be factors in the collision at this time, said investigators, but the crash is still under investigation.

The Clark County Coroner will release the identity of the victims once the next of kin is notified.

Anyone with information regarding this crash is urged to call the North Las Vegas Police Department at (702) 633-9111. To remain anonymous, call Crime Stoppers at (702) 385-5555.
