LAS VEGAS - Two homeless people are in critical condition after a DUI crash on Veterans Memorial Drive.
Metro says the driver, 35-year-old Uziel Reyes-Perez, was arrested for two counts of Felony DUI.
Metro says Reyes-Perez jumped the sidewalk, hitting four people in all.
Detectives found beer cans inside a bag that the driver tried to throw into the parking lot of a nearby library.
If not for the brick wall, Metro says the driver would have driven into the parking lot of the library.
8 News NOW spoke to Mark Gregory, a friend of the men who were hit.
"Two of them are in overnight homeless shelters at Catholic Charities. Their really good people and everybody's hoping that they pull through it," Gregory said.
Metro says the men were rushed into surgery and remain in ICU.
