Two wounded, shooter sought in North Vegas drive-by

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) -- Police say one man is hospitalized and another was treated for a hand wound after a drive-by shooting in a North Las Vegas neighborhood.

North Las Vegas police Officer Aaron Patty said Tuesday a 31-year-old man was in stable condition at University Medical Center in Las Vegas and a 24-year-old man was treated and released at North Vista Hospital after the shooting a little before 8 p.m. Monday on Hassell Avenue.

Patty says the man at UMC is expected to survive.

Witnesses described a dark-colored SUV in the area where the shooting occurred near West Lake Mead Boulevard and Comstock Avenue, and Patty says police stopped a similar car near the scene. No arrests were made.

Patty says the shooting may have been gang-related.
