LAS VEGAS - Metro is investigating a double homicide on the west side of Las Vegas that occurred early Tuesday morning.

Two people were found dead, and another critically injured, in a car in the 4100 block of Silver Dollar Avenue near Sahara Avenue and Valley View Boulevard.

The Clark County Coroners Office identified one of the victims as 36-year-old Jason Harvey. The second victim identification is still pending as next of kin waits to be notified.

Officers say the third victim is now being treated at University Medical Center.

Officers were called to the address around 3:30 a.m. after witnesses reported hearing several gunshots. Police believe the shooter was riding in the backseat of the vehicle. A female driver in her 20's and male passenger in his 30's were found dead in the front seats of the car. Both were shot in the head, police said.

The other victim was in the rear seat and was shot in the face. Police said, he is in critical condition.

Witnesses told police, they saw someone running from the complex after the shooting.

The car is a rental vehicle.

Police are going through surveillance tape now trying to gather more information.

The shooting scene is near Clark High School.
