Man found dead in the water at Lake Mead

LAS VEGAS - A police dive team responded to Lake Mead National Recreation Area Sunday to recover a body found under six feet of water.

The body of a man in his 30's was located in the area of Boulder Beach, according to Lt. Grant Rogers, Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.

The initial call came in around 3:22 p.m. about two people struggling to stay afloat. One of the people was rescued, according to the Christie Vanover, National Park Service. The other person was not rescued.

Medical responders rushed the rescued person to Boulder City Hospital with what is believed to be non-life-threatening injuries, Vanover said.

The man who died in the water reportedly fell off a raft, according to Lt. Rogers. The LVMPD dive team is headed to the scene.
