UPDATE: Motorcycle rider dead in crash on SR 160

LAS VEGAS - UPDATE: NHP says the road is now open to traffic.

Nevada Highway Patrol troopers are investigating after motorcycle rider died in a crash on SR 160.

The crash happened around 1:15 p.m. at mile marker 19 near Mountain Pass.

The man was riding a 2006 Harley Davidson motorcycle when he went down for an unknown reason, according to Trooper Jason Buratczuk, NHP.

A witness who stopped at the scene told troopers that the man was seen speeding before the crash, Buratczuk added.

The man died at the scene. The motorcycle was the only vehicle involved in the crash. 

NHP says the road is now open to traffic.
