Vice President Joe Biden to Visit Las Vegas

LAS VEGAS -- Vice President Joe Biden will be in Las Vegas to attend the Disabled American Veterans' National Convention.

The convention will take place Aug. 4 to Aug. 7 at Bally's Hotel. Biden will address the attendees at the opening session. One issue that will be discussed at the gathering is the back log for delivering benefits to veterans.

Actors Gary Sinise and J.R. Martinez will also be guests at the convention.

The trip will be the second in a month for Biden to Nevada. The presidential battleground state has about 250,000 former military members.

Biden addressed Hispanic leaders July 10 at a National Council of La Raza conference in Las Vegas, and visited a nearby U.S. Vets Inc. training center.

Earlier this week, President Barack Obama and GOP presidential challenger Mitt Romney separately stumped for votes at a Veterans of Foreign Wars convention in Reno.
