A woman fights off a suspected purse snatcher, and it's all caught on camera.

Metro Police released video from the Jan. 16 incident Thursday evening.  According to officers, they were dispatched to a fast food restaurant located in the 2200 block of East Sahara Avenue for a report of an attempted purse snatching.

On the surveillance video, the suspect could be seen leaving the men's restroom as a mother pushing a baby in a baby stroller, is seen trying to enter the women's restroom right next door.

As the woman reaches for the door, the suspect grabs the woman's purse from the stroller, but the woman jumps into action and immediately tries to grab it back.

During the struggle, the video shows the woman tackling the man to the floor.  The two are tugging over the bag when another man walks up to assist the woman.

The woman was able to grab her purse, and the suspect took off out the door.

The suspect is described as a white male adult, 30 to 35 years-old, standing approximately 5’9” tall, weighing approximately 180 pounds and balding. The suspect was further described as wearing a dark colored long sleeved jacket or shirt and dark
colored pants.

The suspect is believed to be connected to other theft-related crimes in the area.
