VP Biden Stumps at Vegas-Area Work Training Site

NORTH LAS VEGAS, Nev. (AP) -- Vice President Joe Biden is continuing a two-day visit to battleground Nevada with an appearance at a Democratic campaign rally at a union work training center in North Las Vegas.

Campaign officials say about 600 people gathered for Biden's appearance Thursday the Culinary Academy of Las Vegas.

Democratic Congressional candidate Steven Horsford is chief executive of the vocational center several miles north of the Las Vegas Strip.

He told the crowd the Nov. 6 election will be close, urged them to get friends and neighbors to vote early.

Early voting starts Saturday in Nevada.

Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid introduced Biden for a speech expected to focus on the choice between President Barack Obama and Republican challenger Mitt Romney.

The appearance is Biden's third in Las Vegas in four months.
