West Nile Virus Found in Two Valley Humans

LAS VEGAS - The Southern Nevada Health District reports its first two cases of West Nile Virus in humans for 2013. A 60-year-old woman and a 70-year-old man contracted the virus. The woman was hospitalized with a more serious form of the illness.

West Nile Virus is transported through mosquitos. The Health District reported July 2 it discovered the first positive case of the virus in valley mosquitos. That identification occurred in the valley's 89014 zip code.
