CARSON CITY, Nev., July 13, 2016 - The Nevada Certified Court Interpreters Program will train prospective court interpreters in August and September with two orientation workshops. Each event aims to improve the working knowledge of court interpreters across Nevada with the end goal of reducing the shortage of certified court interpreters.
Orientation Workshops/Written Examinations will be held in Reno and Las Vegas on the following dates:
Reno – August 5-6, 2016, at the Washoe County Commission Chambers, 1001 E. Ninth Street. The Written Examination, which follows the workshop, takes place at approximately 2:15 p.m. on August 6, 2016.
Las Vegas – September 16-17, 2016, at the Clark County Government Center, Organizational Development Center Room, 500 S. Grand Central Pkwy. The Written Examination, which follows the workshop, takes place at approximately 2:15 p.m. on September 17, 2016.
The orientation workshop and the written examination is the first part of the process for becoming a credentialed court interpreter. Passing this test allows an individual to participate in an oral examination, which will be scheduled at a later time.
