Construction projects to usher in new restaurants and offices near Spring Mountain and Jones

News

Right in the heart of the Asian-American district, a new development will pop up on Spring Mountain Road. New restaurants and offices will soon go up on a vacant plot of land near Spring Mountain and Jones.

Dragons, dancers, and noise from drums field the air to welcoming the new construction, while developers and dignitaries turned dirt on a new 33,000 square foot project.

“It’s newer design is so that it attracts the traditional Chinese population and the young generation as well,” said Nancy Li, realtor.

There’s not a lot of empty land for development along the busy corridor that cuts through the center of the Chinatown district.

Real estate broker Steve Marlis says the new project should spark freshness in real estate in the area.

“Obviously, McDonald’s took note, because they needed to clean their act up as well and they knocked their building down,” Marlis said.

Real estate agents representing the developer say the Asian-American population continues to grow, with people migrating from places like California, New York, and even Hawaii.

The hope is to appeal to more traditional families, as well as the millennial generation.

Construction should begin in earnest in the coming weeks. Businesses are expected to open some time in December next year.
