If your New Year’s plans include celebrating with alcohol, local police want to make sure you do not get behind the wheel after drinking. Metro Police, the Nevada Highway Patrol, and other law enforcement groups are teaming up for additional patrols on New Year’s Eve and January 1st.

Local agencies are teaming up to provide free or discounted rides home. Plan ahead and don’t risk putting yourself or others in danger.

Lyft – Lyft is offering $5 off two rides per rider on New Year’s Eve. Users should enter the promo code “LASNYE10” in their Lyft apps.  The money is part of a $200,000 grant from the Las Vegas Coalition for Zero Fatalities.

AAA Tipsy Tow – AAA will give anyone – not just auto club members – a free ride home and a free tow for their vehicle, up to 10 miles, from 6 p.m. to 6 a.m.  After 10 miles, standard tow rates apply.  Motorists should call 800-222-4357 to request the Tipsy Tow service.

RTC Buses – Free from 6 p.m. Monday to 9 a.m. Tuesday.

Monorail – $1 rides for locals and $5 for visitors.  Trains run continuously from 7 a.m. Monday to 2 a.m. Wednesday, January 2nd.
