‘Laverne & Shirley’ actress Penny Marshall dies at 75

Penny Marshall, a director, comedian and actress has died at the age of 75.

Among other roles, she was know for playing Laverne on the 1970s show “Laverne & Shirley,” which became a hit.

She also directed “Big” and was the first female director to gross $100 million and did it again with “A League of Their Own.” She also directed “Jumpin’ Jack Flash” and “Awakenings.”

Marshall passed away in her Hollywood Hills home from complications due to diabetes.
