Accused murderer, NLV suspect appears in court

The man arrested for killing a family of three in North Las Vegas made his first appearance in court Monday morning.

41-year-old Jose Easley Jr. faces three counts of murder for the deaths in a triple shooting that took place on October 14.

Easley's appearance was brief and didn't say anything. He left the talking to his public defender. Easley is accused of shooting and killing Susan, Dejonae and Deonte Nash more than a week ago at a shopping center on Lake Mead and Simmons.

One more person was shot in the arm, but survived.

Easley is described as an "acquaintance" of the Nash family.

According to his arrest report, Easley got into an argument with the four people before the shooting. It turns out Easley is a four-time convicted felon who shouldn't have even had a gun.

8 News NOW tried to speak with his public defender and didn't want to comment.

Easley is due back for a preliminary hearing on the morning of December 10.
