LAS VEGAS - Brothel owner Dennis Hof is facing new allegations of sexual assault as he continues his campaign for a seat in the Nevada Assembly.
The following statement was sent to 8 News NOW from the Nevada Department of Public Safety:
"Based on a request from the Carson City Sheriff’s Office, the Nevada Department of Public Safety, Investigation Division, is conducting an investigation into sexual assault allegations against Dennis Hof. As this is an ongoing investigation, no further information can be provided at this time."
In June, other allegations surfaced against the Love Ranch Brothel owner.
A 2007 Lyon County Sheriff's Department report details an assault that allegedly took place in 2005. However, the case was closed without any charges being filed.
Hof denied the charges when he was interviewed by a Lyon County sheriff's deputy in 2007.
Hof said he didn't even remember the alleged victim. And through a spokesman, he continues to deny them now.
Hof was dogged by allegations of sexual assault of workers and guests at his brothels during his successful campaign for assembly, in which he defeated three-term incumbent Republican James Oscarson in District 36.
Just last week, a federal judge ordered that Dennis Hof’s Love Ranch South brothel license be restored and reinstated.

Earlier this month, Hoff sued when the property was closed, and the brothel's license, liquor license, and the female worker's cards were all surrendered to the Sheriff’s Office.
Hof said the move was politically motivated retribution because he won the Republican primary against incumbent Assemblyman James Oscarson, and turned out his supporters to defeat county Commissioners Dan Schinhofen and Butch Borasky.
County commissioners say they denied renewal permits because the brothel's application was incomplete. Commissioner Dan Schinhofen says Hof had racked up many violations over the past few years, like having signs in the public right of way and not getting inspections after moving portable buildings.
