A helicopter pilot made a precautionary landing in an empty water basin Wednesday morning near Tenaya Way and Alexander Road.
According to Tim Szymanski with Las Vegas Fire and Rescue, the pilot reported smoke in the cockpit and landed around 8:35 a.m.
There were no injuries reported and no fire in the helicopter.
Officials say the pilot checked the aircraft and resumed the short flight to the airport with no other trouble.
