Man claims he killed homeless man, turns self into CCDC

A 25-year-old man was arrested Dec. 24 for allegedly killing a man. Metro Police said Jarrid Johnson walked into the visitor entrance of the Clark County Detention Center and told a corrections officer he had killed a homeless man.

On Dec. 21 around 6:43 a.m. LVMPD officers were dispatched to the area of Flamingo and Pinecrest to investigate a report of a man laying on the roadway.  When officers arrived at the scene, they found a man suffering from multiple stab wounds.  

Medical personnel pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

Correctional officers contacted homicide detectives and told them about Johnson’s claims. They interviewed him, and as a result of the investigation, Johnson was arrested and booked for one count of murder with a deadly weapon.
