Metro body camera video from deadly officer-involved shooting in Las Vegas Country Club community

Metro Police released more details Thursday about an officer-involved shooting that occurred Wednesday night at the Las Vegas Country Club.  Assistant Sheriff Tim Kelly held the news conference.

Police said a man was shot and killed in the gated community located in the 3100 block of Bel Air Drive, near Desert Inn and Maryland Parkway, after engaging with officers.

The suspect has been identified as 54-year-old Alex Stewart Underdown.  Brendan Burbrink, 33, was named as the officer involved in the May 14 shooting.

According to Metro, everything started as a domestic distrurbance. When officers arrived at the scene,   a woman came out of the home with facial injuries. Undrdone shortly followed.

“As Underdown was walking around his yard he walked by Officer Burbrink and suddenly raised a firearm and pointed it at Officer Burbrink, and the two other officers,” said Assistant Sheriff Kelly. Officer Burbrink fired four rounds at Underdown, striking him once.  Underdown fell to the ground and officers formed a team to move up, render aid and take him into custody.”  

Medical personell pronounced underdown dead at the scene. This was the 8th officer involved shooting this year.
