Cadesha Bishop – Las Vegas police say she caused an elderly man’s death when she pushed him off of an RTC bus.
The incident happened in March, but the man did not die from his injuries until late April. Bishop now faces an open murder charge and previous court records show Bishop was twice convicted on domestic violence charges in 2012 and 2013.
Bishop’s neighbor Kia Lea, remembers May 6 – the day she was taken into custody.
“I was shocked,” Lea said. “I hear someone screaming saying ‘you can’t be in here. You don’t have a search warrant. What’s going on?’ Really crazy, and these are pretty quiet apartments.”
According to the arrest warrant, Bishop is accused of pushing 74-year-old Serge Fournier out of an RTC bus in downtown Las Vegas in March.
“Absolutely heartbreaking; heartbreaking,” Lea said.
When Fournier died from his injuries, the coroner ruled his death a homicide.
“It was heartbreaking; I cried,” Lea said about watching the video. “Just to see not anybody helping in the video; he was just laying there all alone. It’s always sad when someone passes away, but to have them pass away in such a horrible manner, they need strength for that.”
8 News NOW has learned Bishop is no longer in jail, she’s now on house arrest. She’ll be back in court next Thursday.
