A professional poker player will pocket $100,000, but he has to survive 30 days in complete darkness with no human interaction first.
Poker players Rory Young and Rich Alati came up with the bet a few months back, according to PocketFives. On Nov. 21, Alati locked himself inside a bathroom somewhere in Las Vegas.
Under the rules of the bet, Alati cannot have any source of light in the room and not be under the influence of drugs. He was allowed to choose any food he wanted before the challenge started, but it’s being delivered to him on random days and times, to prevent him from knowing how much time has passed.
There are five night-vision cameras recording Alati around the clock, and the footage is streamed to a private channel so his family can check on him. The pair hopes to turn the footage into a reality show once the challenge is complete.
