A big fundraiser for the American Lung Association in Nevada takes place this weekend.
Nearly 1,000 people will climb one of Las Vegas’s most iconic buildings in the annual Scale the Strat event.
Climbers with all abilities will tackle 108 stories to make it to where a rewarding view awaits them at the top of the stairwell. But the biggest benefit is knowing their effort helps the American Lung Association in Nevada.
This is the organization’s annual event.
Last year, it raised a record $350,000 to prevent lung disease and promote lung health. Climbers range in age and ability.
One of those planning to accomplish this feat is Brent Wright with a team — the Ninganeers.
He is the highest fundraiser with more than $5,000 riased for the lung association and has a special connection this structure.
He was one of the original architects for the Statosphere tower.
The event takes place Sunday, Feb. 24.
You can register on site starting at 7 a.m. which costs $75 plus a fundraising minimum of $175 dollars. Climbs begin at 7:30 a.m. and will continue until noon.
