LAS VEGAS - The mother of a 6-month-old baby boy is facing felony child abuse charges following the child's death.
Amanda Ramsey, 22, was arrested by Nye County Sheriff's deputies in Pahrump on Wednesday in connection with an ongoing investigation of child abuse.
According to the Nye County Sheriff's office, the investigation began in Sept. 2017 when the baby was taken to Sunrise Pediatric Hospital in Las Vegas with life-threatening injuries caused by physical abuse. The child later died.
The child's father, Mitchell Robinson, was arrested for murder and child abuse.
A warrant for Ramsey's arrest was issued after detectives discovered she took part in the abuse and failed to protect her child, the Nye County Sheriff's office said.
Ramsey is being held on a $500,000 cash bail and was booked into the Nye County Detention center.
