Motorcycle rider killed by suspected DUI driver in overnight crash

LAS VEGAS - A motorcyclist rider is dead and a man is under arrested for DUI after an overnight crash, according to authorities.

The crash happened around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday at the ramp intersection of Flamingo Road and I-15.

The motorcycle rider was traveling through the intersection on a green light when he was hit by a Cadillac which ran a red light, said Trooper Travis Smaka, Nevada Highway Patrol.

Medical responders rushed the 52-year-old rider to University Medical Center where he died, Smaka said.

Troopers arrested the driver of the Cadillac for DUI, Smaka said. 

The Clark County Coroner's Office will release the identity of the motorcycle rider once the next of kin is notified.
