LAS VEGAS - UPDATE: The Clark County Coroner's Office has released the identity of the decedent as 23-year-old Raheem Anthony Rice of Las Vegas. The cause of death is a gunshot wound to the back. The death is ruled a homicide.
A man is dead and a teen injured in a drive-by shooting outside a home in the southwest valley, police said.
The incident happened around 1:00 a.m. on Sunday in a residential area near Fort Apache Road and Sunset Road.
The two victims showed up to a house party that police broke up earlier in the night, according to homicide detectives with the Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department.
As they approached the house, they were told by two other men that police shut the party down.
The group of men continued talking outside the home when black sedan drove down the street and made a u-turn. As the sedan passed the group again, someone in the car began firing, police said.
Both the man and teen were rushed to the hospital where the man died, according to investigators.
A number of people were in the area at the time of the shooting. Many of them ran away when the shots were fired, police said.
