Police investigating barricaded person, traffic closures in west Las Vegas neighborhood

LAS VEGAS - A barricade situation has forced traffic closures in a west Las Vegas neighborhood.

Metro Police say a suicidal person fired one gunshot around 7:42 p.m. Friday inside a residence at East Windmill Lane, near South Spencer Street. 

There are no other people inside the home, according to police. Investigators are attempting to make contact with the person. 

Police are treating the incident as a barricade situation.

Windmill Lane will be shut down between Rainbow and Severn Valley for the next couple of hours.
