WATCH: Police looking for purse snatching suspect who attacked elderly woman


Las Vegas Metro Police are hoping video of a suspect attempting to steal an older woman’s purse will lead to his identity being revealed.

According to police, The attempted robbery happened on Jan. 18 around 1:30 p.m. in the 4900 block of Blue Diamond Road as a woman was leaving a business. 

The suspect followed the woman to the business and then waited for her outside. When she left the business, he followed her to her car and then grabbed her purse, knocking her to the ground. The woman suffered abrasions to her head and was taken to St. Rose San Martin Hospital for treatment.

Another man in the parking lot chases off the suspect causing him to drop the purse. 

The suspect did leave the area in a waiting vehicle.

He is described as a young black man, around 5-foot-10-inches tall, weighing 150 pounds, with a tapered afro-style haircut. He was last seen wearing blue jeans and a dark hooded sweatshirt.
