Big-time changes to Charleston and the I-15 interchange
Some of it starts Friday night, but the longer term “Driving You Crazy” is next week.
The bottom line is that you may just want to avoid trying to get on or off northbound 15 from Charleston for the next month and a half. You can get off at Sahara and go east to Las Vegas Blvd or west to Rancho for access to Charleston. Starting Monday night NDOT is shutting down the north 15 off-ramp to westbound Charleston, as well as the ramp from Charleston to the north 15. The Project Neon suggested workarounds are complicated.
And there’s stuff you need to know about for this weekend. First- the exit ramp from the north 15 to *east* Charleston is closing at 10 Friday night until 6 Monday morning. Second: the on-ramp to the south 15 *from* Charleston is also closing Friday night until 6 Monday morning. Project Neon will be doing paving work on the lanes of Charleston under the freeway that have been closed for the past several weeks. You can get to east Charleston by moving up to the west Charleston exit then turning left instead of right.
To get onto the south 15 from Charleston this weekend, take Rancho down to Sahara and use that freeway on ramp.
Buckle up, drive carefully – – and put down that phone!
